EXCLUSIVE: You’d be excused for thinking you were watching Married At First Sight and not The Block as the reno show held its first ever vow renewal for Sonny and Alicia.

The couple celebrated their 10 year anniversary by recommitting to one another in front of their three kids Aria, Boston and Koa and their extended Block family.

“Whether we were coming to The Block or not [a vow renewal] was something we really wanted to do for our kids,” Alicia explained.

“When we were married the first time we had two children and our third came along a year after our one year anniversary.”

Sonny added: “He’s always disappointed that he’s not in the photos and asks ‘Why wasn’t I invited to the party?’”

When Sonny and Alicia came to production with the idea to tie the knot again they and Shelley Craft ran with it and organised a ceremony.

In a very lucky twist of fate, fellow Blockhead Mat turned out to be a licenced marriage celebrant and officiated the ceremony.

“Please be upstanding for the bride,” Mat kickstarted the formalities.

Sonny and Alicia exchanged tear-jerking vows at Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm in Daylesford with Scott Cam, Foreman Dan, Shelley, their co-stars and the rest of the Blockheads extended families watching along.
