We have a new development regarding the highly talked-about trade proposed by several experts involving the Montreal Canadiens and the St. Louis Blues.

For several weeks now, the name Jordan Kyrou has been floated by many as a serious and realistic target for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.

Today, the well-known David Pagnotta (The Fourth Period) reports a new development in this case.

The St. Louis Blues are absolutely ready to make the trade involving Jordan Kyrou

So, something else must be holding it up – likely the asking price – but according to The Fourth Period, the Blues are absolutely willing to trade Kyrou.

David Pagnotta: Re Jordan Kyrou:

“From St. Louis’ perspective, they’re willing to do it; is St. Louis overly motivated to move a first line guy making 2nd line money..? Not overly motivated at all

– Hello Hockey

That’s very interesting for the Canadiens, especially since we know (from reliable sources) that Kent Hughes is interested in Kyrou – and that Kyrou himself is interested in Montreal.

Regarding the pursuit of a trade for Jordan Kyrou by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, we should expect discussions to resume within the next few weeks.

In any case, we already know that Kyrou does indeed want to play for the Canadiens.

Jordan Kyrou, 27 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 196-pound winger who was a second-round pick (35th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in 2016.

He has recorded 332 points in 416 career NHL games, including 150 goals, and he posted 70 points in 82 games this past season with the Blues.

Kyrou earns $8.125 million per year through 2031 – a solid contract.

Personally, I’d obviously prefer if Kyrou were a center, but I don’t see how acquiring such a talented player could ever be bad news for a team like the Canadiens.
