Love Island Australia star Cartier Surjan has welcomed a baby boy with NRL champ Jake Simkin.

The couple, who began dating in 2020, shared the happy news on Instagram on Wednesday.

They included a touching black and white picture of Jake, 23, gazing lovingly at the newborn as he slept in his bassinet.

‘Welcome to the world, our boy,’ the delighted new parents gushed in the caption.

Cartier, 26, also shared another photo on her stories of their boy resting on a blanket as his proud dad looks on.

Though the couple did not announce the name of their child in their Instagram post, a follower appeared to reveal their boy’s name.

‘Congratulations to you both, little Hunter is gorgeous,’ they commented.

Among the well-wishers sending messages of congratulations was Penrith Panthers NRL star Daine Laurie who said, ‘Congrats my breddd xx.’

Jake’s Manly teammate Haumole Olakau’atu also shared, ‘Yes mate, congrats guys.’

‘Oh my gosh, congratulations, you two,’ a third friend added.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child back in April.

Posing together on a beach, the parents shared a kiss as they revealed the happy news with Cartier’s 213,000 followers.

Cartier unzipped her black mum jeans and let her bump hang out, nuzzling her face into Jake’s neck, while the dad-to-be cradled her belly.

‘We are so excited to meet you,’ she captioned the carousel of photos, which also included the baby’s first ultrasound.

‘Hi baby, can’t believe I don’t have to hide you anymore,’ she said in another post where she could be seen admiring her pregnant belly.

Cartier was coupled up with Adam Farrugia, 27, on Love Island Australia.

It ran its course, however, and the two decided to be friends.

Cartier then moved on with co-star Matthew Zukowski, Tammy Hembrow’s now ex-husband.

Cartier and Jake met in Sydney at Clovelly Beach.

‘I wasn’t meant to be at that beach that day, but it ended up being the easiest to get to as the traffic was awful,’ she told Daily Mail.

‘I spotted Jake nearby in a blue hat, and we got talking – the rest is history.’
