Brad Marchand has never been one to shy away from the spotlight, and since hoisting the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, he’s taken his legendary agitator status to new heights—this time on social media. In the aftermath of a hard-fought playoff run, Marchand has been relentless, dishing out playful jabs and pointed remarks to rivals across the league.

His latest target? Edmonton Oilers defenceman Jake Walman, who found himself on the receiving end of Marchand’s sharp wit after a memorable moment in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. As Marchand continues his victory lap online, fans and critics alike are buzzing over his antics, wondering just how far the NHL’s ultimate pest will go in his quest to keep the hockey world talking.

Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand has been on a social media run for the ages since winning the Stanley Cup, and now he’s going after Oilers defender Jake Walman.

In Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, Panthers forward Tomas Nosek took a delay of game penalty, and Walman came over to laugh in his face. The Oilers won the game on the ensuing powerplay, but Marchand and the Panthers got the last laugh.

After terrorizing practically every team on the ice, Marchand’s been dunking on everyone else in a victory tour. Today, he took a shot in an Instagram comment at Jake Walman for the Game 1 bit.

Think he’s still laughing?

Unfortunately, that moment from Walman may have been the peak of the Oilers playoffs this year. They were confident, playing their style of hockey, and got the win – but ultimately lost out to a better team.

Brad Marchand himself is one of the most deserving players to take the victory lap, at the annoyance of everyone else. The 37 year old forward netted 20 points in 23 playoff games, including 6 points in the Cup Final. It was impressive to see the veteran put in a bid for the Conn Smythe.

Since then, he’s let everybody know it. Between trolling the Oilers for the loss, Leafs for free agency, thanking every team they beat, he’s on quote the bender.

For the sake of the NHL, hopefully the ultimate pest player leaves his ultimate pest team in free agency. Florida may be a little weaker next season, but a rematch for the third time in the Cup Final may not be out of the question.
