We have a last-minute announcement from the Montreal Canadiens organization.
The Canadiens have made their first signing of the 2025 offseason, agreeing to terms on a three-year entry-level contract (2025-26 to 2027-28) with forward Vinzenz Rohrer.
Signing Alert: Forward Vinzenz Rohrer Signs with the Montreal Canadiens
What great news for the young forward, who truly impressed at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
Please also note the following important clarification:
“Similar to Oliver Kapanen last summer, Rohrer has a valid contract with the Zurich Lions for next season.
That means he can attend Canadiens camp in the fall, but, if he doesn’t crack the roster, he must be loaned back to Zurich before sending him to Laval.”
Marco D’Amico
So it’s clearly either Montreal or Zurich for him next season.
At 20 years old, Rohrer is a forward who was selected 75th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2022 (third round), and he recorded 25 points in 52 games this season in Switzerland’s top league.
He will definitely be an interesting name to watch this fall.
This signing also confirms that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens have now signed their top six picks from the 2022 NHL Draft. Not bad!
We’re talking about:
Juraj Slafkovsky
Filip Mesar
Owen Beck
Lane Hutson
Vinzenz Rohrer
Adam Engstrom
And we can also add Jared Davidson to that list!
More details to follow.
