Casting for the new renovation show is open now!

Australia’s favourite vet is taking on a new hosting gig at a new network, Channel 7. Dr Chris will be fronting the new home renovation show, My Reno Rules.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new show.

What’s the premise of My Reno Rules?

If you’re a fan of The Block, then this show should be right up your alley.

Four teams go head-to-head to renovate to neighbouring houses in a Melbourne suburb.

What’s the prize for My Reno Rules?

The winning contestants will score a cash prize for renovating the best property. However, you might be asking what about the houses that are renovated, what happens to them? Unlike The Block, which hosts an auction for the homes renovated (or, in the case of 2025’s season, built from scratch), the live grand finale of the season will see two Australians win the renovated, fully furnished, landscaped, and kitted-out houses! Live on TV.

Who hosts My Reno Rules?

As aforementioned, Dr Chris Brown is hosting the new Channel 7 show. And he sounds excited to be taking part, saying in a statement:

“The term ‘life-changing’ can get thrown around a lot on TV, but this is absolutely that. Imagine winning a brand-new home – that’s going to be the reality for two lucky Aussies. And if you’re a passionate renovator, you could also win a massive cash prize. With the dream of owning your own home still top of the list for most Aussies, I can’t wait to have a front row seat to that becoming a reality. It’s going to be a heartwarming ride!”

When will My Reno Rules premiere?

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2026 to see the show on our screens. However, casting is taking place now, and if you’re interested in throwing your hammer in the ring, you can apply here.
