The NHL trade rumor mill is buzzing louder than ever, and this time, the Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks find themselves at the epicenter of a potential blockbuster.

As the season heats up and teams jockey for position, whispers of a game-changing proposal have started to circulate—one that could alter the trajectory of both storied franchises.

Imagine a deal so bold, so daring, that it could finally end Montreal’s years-long rebuild and simultaneously reshape Anaheim’s future.

Insiders are already debating the merits of this jaw-dropping scenario, and fans on both sides are holding their breath, wondering if their team will pull the trigger.

What makes this trade even more fascinating is the high-profile names reportedly involved, including one of the league’s most promising young centers and a defenseman whose upside has scouts raving. But there’s more to the story than just the players on the move; the ripple effects could be felt throughout the entire NHL landscape.

Could this be the move that tips the balance of power? Is this the final piece of the puzzle for the Canadiens? Or is Anaheim about to pull off a masterstroke?

A very good trade proposal involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Anaheim Ducks has just been suggested by an observer.

We know that Mason McTavish could possibly be available for a trade in Anaheim. He’s an excellent young center, and we also know the Ducks would be looking for a young right-shot defenseman in such a deal.

As for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, it’s obvious they would be extremely interested in acquiring McTavish, but it’s equally clear they’re aware that trading a David Reinbacher would sting.

So, is there a way to acquire McTavish without overly affecting the Habs’ defensive corps?

That’s exactly what the site HABSolumentFan is proposing.

Mason McTavish and Tristan Luneau traded to the Montreal Canadiens, notably in return for David Reinbacher: HF’s proposal

Here’s the proposal in question:

“Mason McTavish and Tristan Luneau to the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for David Reinbacher, Owen Beck, and a 2027 first-round pick.”

Would you do it?

Personally, I’d be extremely tempted.

I’m not a fan of trading a young right-shot defenseman as promising as David Reinbacher, but at the same time, Mason McTavish is exactly the last missing piece the Canadiens need.

With McTavish in Montreal, we could officially say that the rebuild is truly over.

And if Tristan Luneau could become a solid young right-shot defenseman in the NHL, well, that would be a home run for Kent Hughes.

What do you think?

TO ANAHEIM:

David Reinbacher, Owen Beck, and a 2027 first-round pick

I think this could truly be a win-win trade for both teams.
