As the dust settles following the Laval Rocket’s disappointing playoff exit, the Montreal Canadiens organization wasted no time setting their offseason in motion. Within hours of the Rocket’s elimination, a crucial roster move was announced, sending shockwaves through the fanbase and reigniting excitement for Quebec hockey. This sudden shift brings renewed focus to the Trois-Rivières Lions, who are still fighting fiercely in their own playoff campaign.

With the return of a key defenseman, the Lions are poised to receive a major boost just when they need it most. Vincent Sévigny, a talented blueliner with both AHL experience and a proven track record in Trois-Rivières, is making his way back to the lineup. His presence promises to strengthen the team’s defense and inject fresh energy into their postseason push. As anticipation builds ahead of the next big game, all eyes will be on Sévigny—whose return could prove to be a game-changer for the Lions and a storyline to watch for fans across the province.

As you probably already know, the Laval Rocket unfortunately lost last night and were eliminated from the AHL playoffs.

Just a few hours after that loss, the first personnel move was indeed announced within the Montreal Canadiens organization.

This gives us a great reason to remind you, if you’re interested, to turn your attention to the Trois-Rivières Lions!

They, too, are having a very exciting and intense playoff run.

Major Reinforcement at the Perfect Time for the Trois-Rivières Lions!

Indeed, due to the elimination of Pascal Vincent’s squad, a key defenseman is arriving to reinforce Trois-Rivières.

It had been a significant loss for the Lions when Vincent Sévigny was called up by the Laval Rocket (in the middle of the playoffs), but he’s back!

Of course, Laval no longer needs him for the time being.

“Defenseman Vincent Sévigny has been reassigned to the Trois-Rivières Lions.”

“Trois-Rivieres has received a player from its AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket. D Vincent Sévigny, who has 5 points (1 G, 4 A) in 15 playoff games for the Lions, had been called up. But Laval was eliminated from the playoffs last night.”

This is undoubtedly great news for Ron Choules’ squad!

At 24 years old, Vincent Sévigny is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound left-shot defenseman from Quebec City, who tallied 19 points in 49 games this season with the Trois-Rivières Lions, along with a solid +25 rating.

He also has over 90 games of AHL experience.

He’ll be a name to watch for those tuning into the Lions’ playoff games, and also this fall at training camp.

Sévigny could end up surprising a lot of people!
