We just received an announcement from the Laval Rocket regarding two recent acquisitions by the Montreal Canadiens organization.

On July 1st, the Canadiens announced the signing of forward Alex Belzile.

This is a one-year contract for Alex Belzile, bringing him back to the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Also on July 1st, the Canadiens organization announced the signing of defenseman Tobie Paquette-Bisson.

That makes two returnees joining the organizational depth chart.

It looks like some Laval Rocket fans’ jerseys just became relevant and up-to-date again! Belzile will be wearing number 22, while Bisson will reclaim number 4.

Alex Belzile, 33 years old, signed a two-way contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

He recorded 56 points in 66 games last season with the New York Rangers’ AHL affiliate (with 119 penalty minutes), and had 26 points in 31 games during his last season with the Laval Rocket in 2022-23.

Also in 2022-23, he posted 14 points in 31 games with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.

As for Tobie Bisson, he is 28 years old, a 6-foot-3, 207-pound left-shot defenseman from Rosemère, Quebec. He tallied 14 points in 59 games last season with the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL.

The previous season, he recorded 27 points in 69 games with the Laval Rocket, while maintaining an outstanding +21 plus-minus rating.

These are strong additions for the Montreal Canadiens organization!
