Excitement is brewing in Brossard, and the energy is palpable among Montreal Canadiens fans. The anticipation surrounding the team’s latest addition reached new heights this week, as a familiar name finally donned the iconic red jersey for the very first time.

What happened next, however, was far from ordinary—and it’s already sparking conversations across the hockey community.

Those lucky enough to witness the scene in person were treated to a moment that felt both historic and refreshingly unexpected. The Canadiens made sure to capture every detail, releasing a series of images that only hint at the significance of what’s unfolding behind the scenes.

But the real story isn’t just about a new face in the locker room; it’s about a surprising choice, a budding partnership, and the quiet beginnings of something that could reshape the team’s defensive core.

Insiders are buzzing about a particular decision made during those first crucial moments on the ice—one that might just reveal the future of the Canadiens’ blue line.

Who did this newcomer gravitate toward, and what does it mean for the team’s strategy moving forward? The answer isn’t what most expected, and it’s sure to keep fans guessing until training camp.

As we reported a little earlier, Noah Dobson just took his first strides in Brossard wearing the Montreal Canadiens uniform.

It was, of course, a real treat to watch.

The Canadiens then went on to publish the first official images of Dobson in his new jersey-and most importantly, in his new locker room.

Noah Dobson Chose a Very Special Defense Partner in Brossard

That said, going back to his first session in Brossard, Félix Forget (DLC) pointed out an interesting detail about Dobson.

While the majority of the defensemen were on the ice, Noah Dobson was training with.. Lane Hutson!

Of course, the final decision will come down to Martin St-Louis, but as far as Dobson is concerned, it seems he’s already made his choice.

“What’s interesting, too, is that the defenseman took time to work with a certain Lane Hutson.

And this, even though the one many see as his obvious partner, Kaiden Guhle, was also on the ice this morning, along with Alexandre Carrier, Jayden Struble, and David Reinbacher.” – DLC

We even have the footage.

It’ll be something to watch at training camp in a few weeks, but it can only be positive to see Dobson and Hutson developing chemistry together.

These are two very solid, very talented defensemen, and we’re lucky to have them in town!
