There’s starting to be quite a bit of action again on the NHL trade market.

It reached another level, especially after the publication of an article by Jimmy Murphy (RG Media) which outright confirms that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have contacted the Boston Bruins about a trade involving center Pavel Zacha.

Hughes is therefore trying to acquire Zacha, or at least is seriously inquiring about him.

But that’s not all!

In his article, Murphy also reveals the names of three Habs players who are reportedly officially available on the trade market.

Kent Hughes and the Canadiens have put Joshua Roy, Jayden Struble, and Oliver Kapanen on the trade market, according to Murphy’s sources

These are three players who would indeed be available, mainly to bring in reinforcements at center.

Here’s the relevant excerpt:

James Murphy: “Joshua Roy and Oliver Kapanen, as well as defenseman Jayden Struble, are names that continue to be bantered about in NHL trade chatter regarding the Canadiens’ search for a second-line center.” – RG/Jimmy Murphy

This is really interesting!

And you – would you be willing (let’s say) to trade all three players to acquire a center like Pavel Zacha?

Would you be willing to trade Joshua Roy + Oliver Kapanen + Jayden Struble for a good second-line center?

It’s really surprising to see Kapanen’s name in these rumors, but I guess it could simply be explained by the fact that he wasn’t drafted by Kent Hughes (he was drafted under the previous management).
