The Block‘s Steph and Gian Ottavio have revealed the gender of their first baby with a sweet DIY-themed video.
The excited couple, who won The Block‘s 2023 Charming Street season, announced they were expecting their first child last month.
In the video, which starts in black and white, the expecting parents are blindfolded as they dip their hands into a tin of paint.
The pair then hold hands before making a hand print each on the wall.
When Steph and Gian take off their blindfolds, the video turns to colour revealing baby pink paint, meaning they are expecting a baby girl!
“I can’t wait to meet the mini you ✨✨✨,” Steph captioned the video on Instagram.
“The excitement was real on creating this gender reveal, although don’t worry as recommended we washed it straight off! 🙈🌸.”
The video ended with Steph and Gian’s surprised look on their faces and they burst into laughter and embraced with a kiss.
“Baby girl due Oct” were the words now painted on the wall.
Friends and co-stars rushed to the comments section to congratulate the reno stars.
“Girlieeeeee 💕💕💕💕 Girl gang super strong now (G has 3 wives and a little princess) PS. The paint on the floorboards,” wrote co-stars Eliza and Liberty.
To which Gian replied: “Yep yep! All ready for you and Lib to wipe up xx.”
“Oh yay, totally knew it was going to be a girl 🥰🙊 congrats guys ❤️,” said Block faves Alisa and Lysandra.
“This is beautiful. Congrats!” commented MAFS bride Jules Robinson.
While one fan wrote: “That’s the best gender reveal!”
Steph and Gian first announced their pregnancy in May 2025 with a heartfelt post shared to Instagram.
“The start of our little family, when two become three ✨🍼We can’t wait to meet you our beautiful baby Ottavio 🤍” the couple wrote, alongside an adorable video.
In the footage, Steph and Gian embrace while showing off her growing bump, share smiles from a scan and then celebrate the news by painting ‘baby’ on the wall behind them and posing for a family photo with their dog, Lumi.
In Episode 5 of their ‘Real Reno’ YouTube series, Steph said they found out they were pregnant in February, just weeks before they began a renovation project on their future forever home in Sydney.
Steph and Gian are childhood sweethearts who met on the school bus in year seven and have been together ever since.
They married in April 2022, at a lavish ceremony in the Hunter Valley.
Then in 2023 they became household names when they appeared on The Block Season 19.
The Sydney-siders quickly became known for their neutral colour palette and Japandi style and soon became competition frontrunners.
It all came to a head at Auction Day when they took home a record-breaking $1.75 million win.
