As the NHL’s offseason trade market heats up, Montreal Canadiens fans are on the edge of their seats, bracing for what could be a game-changing announcement.

Recent hints from TVA Sports host Jean-Charles Lajoie have sent shockwaves through the hockey community, suggesting that a major move involving Carey Price’s contract is not only imminent—but all but settled.

With September 1 looming, whispers of a complex, high-stakes deal are swirling, and speculation is reaching a fever pitch.

But what exactly is unfolding behind closed doors in Montreal’s front office? Could this be the moment Kent Hughes finally pulls the trigger on a blockbuster trade, reshaping the team’s future and sending shockwaves through the league?

The possible involvement of high-value draft picks, a natural center, and even multiple teams—including the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks—only adds to the intrigue.

Monday promises to be a pivotal day, with the potential for not just one, but two major trades to be announced. Will Carey Price’s contract find a new home, and who will be the next big name to join the Canadiens? The answers are tantalizingly close, but the full story remains just out of reach. Stay tuned—something big is coming.

We should see action soon on the NHL trade market and with the Montreal Canadiens, if we go by Jean-Charles Lajoie.

In the past few minutes, the TVA Sports host made a very interesting post, in which he mentioned the following:

“Canadiens fans, stay alert.

On costly September 1, Carey Price’s contract will move elsewhere.”

– Jean-Charles Lajoie

He added:

“Hughes is reportedly inclined to give up draft picks, including first-rounders, in order to add a natural center to his roster.

A complex but effective deal, just the kind the GM likes, seems to be taking shape.”

– Lajoie

If we go by this statement from Lajoie, we can indeed say that the trade involving Carey Price’s contract is officially settled and will be announced Monday.

Why Monday?

Because that is the date when Price’s last major signing bonus will be paid.

A trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens?

According to what a New York radio host mentioned earlier this week, don’t be surprised if it’s the Chicago Blackhawks who acquire Carey Price’s contract.

Otherwise, we’ll have to look toward the San Jose Sharks.

I’m really looking forward to Monday!

Everything could unfold very quickly then, and we shouldn’t even be surprised if it’s TWO trades announced by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday (one involving Price’s contract and another involving a center).

It promises to be an exciting Monday!
