Regardless of the reality show, it’s well-known that contestants are discouraged from revealing the outcome of the series before it airs on TV. A MasterChef contestant shouldn’t indicate if they made it to the finale, a Farmer Wants A Wife participant shouldn’t spoil if they found love, and a Married At First Sight pairing shouldn’t give away that they’ve broken up.

It appears these rules don’t apply to Channel 7’s new reality dating show, Stranded On Honeymoon Island, which has been completely spoiled by one contestant’s rogue Instagram posts. While viewers have tuned in to the new series this week to see Tom Brown getting matched with his ‘wife’ Emily, his social media followers can see that he is currently in a relationship with someone else.

In fact, the 30-year-old business analyst and entrepreneur has gotten married and become a father of two in the time between when the reality show was filmed and began airing on TV.

Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that although Stranded On Honeymoon Island only premiered on TV this week, it was filmed in October 2023. An insider previously told us that Channel 7 delayed the series “due to more money being thrown at it”, and contestants weren’t told the premiere date until weeks before.

In a rather bizarre turn of events, Tom’s new partner is someone who also appeared on reality TV in 2025: Australian Survivor star Morgan Mitchell. The couple got engaged in July 2024, just before she flew to Fiji to film this year’s season of the Channel 10 series, and got married at the Victorian Marriage Registry in February.

They welcomed their twin daughters, Honey and Maya, in May and brought them home from the NICU earlier this month.

Tom is yet to post anything about Stranded On Honeymoon Island on his social media, although he did promote Morgan’s appearance on Australian Survivor earlier this year.

Meanwhile, his on-screen partner, Emily, who stated in her bio that appearing on the reality show was her “last-resort option” to find love after being single for seven years, has continued to post about the experience and her budding relationship with Tom.

A teaser for the season shows fellow contestant Brie asking Tom, “Why do you have a relationship on the outside of this?” and Emily bursting into tears, although it’s unclear exactly what she’s referring to or how long their relationship lasts.
