Okay folks. It’s time to slip on your detective cap and break out the comically large whiteboard because we are investigating a scandal!

A team is cheating on The Block! Or more specifically, a team is being accused of cheating on The Block!

Of course, this is far from the first cheating scandal to rock the show. In fact, this saga sits in a long line of cheating accusations that have been thrown around since The Block began.

It’s a beloved pastime! Fun for the whole family!

So what are the allegations this time? It all began with the teams being tasked with renovating five private bathing rooms at the historic Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa.

Each team had to transform one of the bathing areas, with the winning couple awarded the largest prize in the show’s history: a caravan valued at $260,000, which they could then auction off with their renovated home. Not too shabby!

With stakes this high AND a caravan on the line, the vibes were especially tense.

Sonny and Alisha admitted that their ‘secret weapon’ was a heated bench in their room — a feature that all the teams were initially forbidden by the spa from adding.

But Sonny took matters into his own hands, telling Hepburn Springs he would find a way. “My comment to them was, ‘Well, if I find you a solution, can I do it?’ And so I found a way around it. We found a way to do it.”

Sonny claimed he was the only one who had gone the extra mile to ensure they would have the heated bench. “I was the only person, sort of, in contact with this person because I’m asking questions all the time,” he said. “I’d say, ‘has anyone else asked about this’ and they’d be like, ‘No one’s even spoken to me, mate’.”

Thanks for the play-by-play, Sonny!

This accomplishment was soon soured when Alicia discovered Han and Can were doing the exact same thing. Spicy!

The couple decided their ‘intellectual property’ had been stolen and, oh boy, they were furious.

“I just think it’s a sh*t move, it’s a sh*t thing to do to somebody else, it’s uncreative,” Alicia said before the couple confronted Han in a dramatic scene.

“F**k it, today is the day The Block changes,” Alicia ranted as the couple walked over to ambush Han.

“Either your tiler has squealed or your builder has squealed because I don’t think you guys have come up with the idea,” she told Han.

Sonny then interrogated Han over whether the heated seat was a ‘forethought’ or an ‘afterthought’ and umm, I’m confused.

“It was already a forethought,” Han told the couple. When they questioned her further, Han explained that the “chippies” had told her how to do it.

Han and Can then flip-flopped between apologising, saying they did nothing wrong, and offering a caravan as penance. It was a confusing time!

DID THEY COPY? OR WAS IT THE CHIPPY? AND WHY GET THE POOR INNOCENT CARAVAN INVOLVED IN THE MESS?

Then the episode ended with LOTS of SUSPENSE.

“We haven’t done anything,” Han said in a confessional before footage is shown that suggests that, perhaps, they did do… something.

On site at Hepburn Springs, Han and Can are shown debating how they would power a heated seat without a ‘hot wire’.

Can is ready to give up, saying the heated seat is an “unnecessary” addition. But Han is still keen, asking her chippy where they could put the wire. He replies that Sonny and Alicia’s room has one installed (oop!), walking into their space to have a peek at how they did it.

“I’ll show you, they’ve done it here,” he tells the women. Han is then weighing up the cost of the hot wire, and the same tradie tells her, “Ring him, he was just here [helping Alicia and Sonny].”

I know this is supposed to be some incriminating footage, but was it? People online aren’t convinced.

Like, okay. It’s not great, but at the same time, it was clear that Han already had the idea for the heated seat — as literally all the other teams had — so this wasn’t an idea she had stolen.

Can was ready to give up on the idea until their tradie started snooping around Alicia and Sonny’s worksite. It’s a bit shady, sure, but Han and Can weren’t the ones peeping on their competitor’s work.

That said, some online commenters have questioned whether the women have come up with many of their original ideas.

But the majority of viewers beileve Alicia and Sonny’s claims are a bit over-the-top — after all, the idea of installing a heated seat in a bathroom is hardly that innovative.

Heated seats? For chilly Daylesford? Groundbreaking.

And awkwardly, this cheating saga has unfolded in the same week that Sonny and Alicia were spotted sneaking around Mat and Robby’s site, even taking photos of their materials to find out the boys are building a wine cellar.

Make it make sense!

With all the evidence in mind, it sounds like Han and Can did take part in something a little dodgy, but ultimately, they didn’t steal the idea for the heated seat. Their tradie just potentially stole the way it was installed.

And in the grand scheme of The Block, I literally don’t care!

Alicia and Sonny’s feisty words with the girls — which left Han crying and threatening to leave the show — didn’t quite fit the crime.

Thankfully, it sounds like they’ve all moved on, and these days, the foursome are all good friends.

“We worked really hard, us and them, to get over this,” Sonny told Chattr.

“We have a very good friendship with the girls. I think it’s commendable on both ourselves and them. We’ve worked to get over that because, you know, we didn’t want bad blood. It upsets us to watch, because whatever’s going on right now, it’s a very hard watch for them. It’s not nice to see that happen to your mates.”

Alicia admits she feels ‘terrible’ for the way the drama played out on screen.

“Honestly, the girls have the biggest hearts, and they take time for everybody. So watching this play out, it’s really going to stink, we feel terrible for the way it went down and what happened, but unfortunately, that’s the truth of it and it’s how it went down.”

But as it goes with The Block, the truth can be a slippery concept to grasp… as slippery as a caravan!
