As the Montreal Canadiens prepare for what promises to be a pivotal season, fans and analysts alike are keeping a close eye on every development within the team.

Yet, just weeks before training camp is set to begin, a troubling update has emerged surrounding one of the franchise’s most important young players—Kirby Dach.

While hopes were high that Dach would return at full strength and anchor a critical role in the Canadiens’ lineup, new information has cast a shadow of uncertainty over his immediate future.

Behind the scenes, reports have surfaced suggesting that Dach’s recovery from knee surgery has not gone as smoothly as anticipated. With less than 40 days remaining until the puck drops on training camp, the news is sending shockwaves through the organization and its passionate fan base.

Why hasn’t Dach been seen in Montreal this summer? What is really happening with his rehab? And, perhaps most importantly, what does this mean for the Canadiens’ chances as they enter a new season already facing significant challenges?

The full story behind Kirby Dach’s ongoing struggle is both concerning and compelling—one that raises more questions than answers, and leaves fans wondering how the team will adapt if their rising star isn’t ready to return.

We have important news regarding Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach – and it’s not very good.

Thanks to exclusive reporting by Maxime Truman (DansLesCoulisses), we’ve learned that Dach has still not recovered from his knee surgery.

With less than 40 days until the start of the Montreal Canadiens’ training camp – and with the team currently lacking a second-line center – this is extremely worrisome.

Kirby Dach Still Not Recovered

This explains why Dach hasn’t been seen in Brossard at all this summer.

Knowing that Dach wasn’t able to train properly during the offseason (or barely at all) in preparation for the upcoming season is far from ideal.

Truman also reports that Kirby Dach is currently in Edmonton.

“I was told yesterday that Kirby Dach is spending the summer in Edmonton with Kaiden Guhle – Dach is from Saskatchewan and Guhle from Alberta – and that Dach is still in rehab.

I repeat, five months after his most recent knee surgery and around 40 days before training camp begins, Kirby Dach is still not recovered and ready to play.”

This is definitely not the news we were hoping to hear this morning..

It’s really unfortunate to see Dach still battling physical issues – something that’s followed him from the very beginning of his career, even back in junior – because we still haven’t seen his true potential.

According to the DLC article, Dach is currently working out in the gym, but he’s reportedly far from being at 100% capacity.

He’s still deep in the rehab process, and don’t be surprised if Dach isn’t even ready to play in the season opener.

More details to follow.
