Mia was eliminated after getting the second highest judges’ score.
Despite getting the second-highest score from the judges in part two of the Dancing with the Stars semi-finale, Mia Fevola and Gustavo Viglio were sent home after the audience vote dragged them down to the bottom of the leaderboard.
Partway through the season, a voting format was introduced, with the judges’ scores making up half of the final result and the audience vote determining the other half.
Week after week, Mia was praised by the judges for her beautiful dancing, and her Instagram comments reflected the same sentiment, with fans disappointed by her elimination. Still, despite narrowly missing out on the grand final of Dancing with the Stars 2025, Mia told Chattr that she believes the audience vote is fair.
“I think so. I think there definitely needs to be some type of aspect of an audience vote,” she told Chattr.
“I don’t have an issue with how the show works. I think it was definitely fair, and I think it’s a good system.”
Mia reflected on when her mum, Alex, competed on the show in 2010 and placed third, and her dad, Brendan, took to the stage in 2012 and came fourth.
“Obviously, it’s all pre-recorded now. Back when my parents did it, it was all live, and I was in the audience, and I’d be trying to get my friends at school to vote for my parents over the phone and over text message,” she laughed.

Mia Fevola didn’t realise they’d placed second in the Dancing with the Stars judges’ vote
Mia and Gustavo scored an impressive 31 out of 40 for their Foxtrot in the semi-finals. But, Mia said she wasn’t even aware they were in second place before the audience vote until it was all over, because she was still running off adrenaline from her performance.
“I feel really proud that we got the second highest score. I actually didnt even remember that. It was all such a blur. Your the emotions are so high at the time that you don’t take a lot of it in.
“But it’s been really nice to watch it with a fresh pair of eyes in the comfort of your own home and relive the experience.”
