Farmer Wants A Wife fans have slammed Channel 7 and the show’s producers over what they see as a “classless” move. In Monday night’s episode, the girls were given two minutes to “put their physical intimacy to the test” with their farmers… in front of the other girls.

The farmers were blindfolded so they didn’t know who was touching them, and the women came up one by one, trying to be as intimate as they could with a lot of people watching (think a lot of arm stroking, cuddling and awkward laughter). Understandably, a few of the women felt uncomfortable by the amount of intimacy some of the ladies were showing.

Rachel on Farmer Thomas’ farm told the cameras, “I don’t think it’s wonderful that we had to be in the same space. I would have much preferred to do this activity in a private space, without other people watching. It’s not something I enjoy to watch on.”

And this echoed the sentiment from fans, who thought the challenge was “rather ridiculous” and “so cringeworthy”.

While some women found the challenge quite awkward, others really went for it, leaving the others feeling jealous.

Clarette, also from Farmer Thomas’ farm, even kissed him in front of the other women.

“That was my time to shine, for sure,” she told the cameras, adding she kissed him “hoping that he’d know it was me”.

On Farmer Tom’s farm, the other girls shared that they were “caught off guard” by how intimate the farmer appeared to be with Georgie.

“It’s not the nicest thing to watch,” Eliza said. “I guess I worry, if this is what they do in front of the group of all the girls, what will they do when the girls aren’t there?”

Taking to social media, fans slammed the show’s awkward moment, with one user writing, “Why are you trying to be MAFS or The Bachelor, I turned off, can’t stand those shows.”

“Oh dear, turned off, all got rather ridiculous,” another said. “Go back to the original concept. Travel Guides was far more entertaining.”

“Go back to the original format of Channel 9,” a third begged. “This part Bachelor, part MAFS is a crock. Give all the girls air time. Channel 7 this is pathetic how you edit and the challenges you give them.”

“I’m done,” someone else simply said. “This show has got more bloody ridiculous as it’s gone on.”

“WRONG. Classless producers,” another said.

“That’s it voyeurism, no thanks, wholesomeness GONE!!!! Another programme ruined for my grandchildren and me,” one woman said.

“This show used to be so classy and wholesome,” another former fan added.

“Farmer is just getting worse think I am done TBH,” one person wrote, with another responding, “Agreed. Worst ever. I’m done with it too.”

Others called it the “worst season ever” and said the challenge was “a ridiculous thing to have to do in front of people watching”.
