One of this year’s Farmer Wants A Wife contestants has called out the reality show for its “awful” editing this season, echoing the thoughts of many viewers across the country. While it’s rumoured to be one of the most successful seasons regarding how many farmers find love, this series has been rocked by multiple incidents behind the scenes.

Channel 7 confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle last month that there were originally five farmers cast this season, but Jack Rowlandson’s scenes had been completely edited out of the show. Meanwhile, there’s been a ‘mass exodus’ after multiple contestants chose to leave on their own accord, and one woman mysteriously went ‘missing’ in one episode without her absence being explained.

Fan favourite contestant Claire, who left Farmer Thomas heartbroken when she decided to leave, has slammed the show’s editing following her exit. Speaking exclusively with Yahoo Lifestyle, the FIFO mine site admin describes this year’s iteration as “the worst season”.

“The editing this season, I’m like, what have you done? It’s awful,” she remarks. “Everyone’s like, ‘’Oh, I’ve been watching’ and I’m like, ‘Don’t, it’s the worst season’.”

Claire argues that the biggest reason this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife is “lacking” is because the girls’ personalities aren’t being shown on TV.

“We each did a master interview that went for about an hour and a half, and it was like, ‘What are your hobbies? How are you in relationships? Why haven’t your relationships worked out before?’, and they haven’t used any of that,” she details.

“I feel like the viewers don’t know anything about us girls. You’d think that they would have more time, because they had to edit one farmer out. It’s just so rushed.”

She also points out that it’s “bizarre” the show never addressed Ellen’s disappearance, which Yahoo Lifestyle recently revealed was simply because she was unwell.

“They had the perfect opportunity to explain where she was, because when the girls arrived on the farm, I was like, ‘Where’s Ellen?’,” she recalls. “I feel like from a viewer’s perspective, that would have been so weird.”

Meanwhile, Claire believes it’s “pretty obvious” who each of the farmers chooses in the finale based on which contestants are getting the most airtime.

Farmer Jarrad was the first to leave the show earlier this week when he chose to pursue a relationship with Chloe in the outside world.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that each of the three remaining farmers will meet four new ladies next week who have been expertly selected by host Natalie Gruzlewski.

Yahoo Lifestyle can also reveal that another farmer, Tasmanian dairy farmer Jack L, will join the reality show in the coming weeks in the hopes of finding love.
