It’s the 21st season of The Block and your favourite critics Dan Reilly and Dani Wales have returned to give their brutally honest reviews of the rooms each week.

Yep, our exclusive Dan vs Dani series is making a comeback!

For years, the couple, who are Block royalty in their own right, have shared their opinions and given feedback as they tour the Blockhead’s rooms after the official judging.

Join us each week as Dan and Dani deliver their own judgements, clash on style trends and award one team their ‘champs’ and another their ‘chumps’ of the week.

Here’s everything they’ve said about the teams’ rooms on The Block 2025:

Week 6: Rumpus Room

Britt and Taz’s pilates room “missed the mark” for Dan and Dani but it wasn’t the reformer pilates machines that posed the biggest issue for the couple.

In Han and Can’s winning rumpus-turned-cinema room Dani found herself saying something she never does: “The TV isn’t big enough”.

The couple thought the timber wall in Emma and Ben’s room was just plain “weird”. Ouch!

As for what Dan and Dani had to say about Robby and Mat’s unfinished rumpus room, you’ll have to hear that for yourself in the video at the top of the article.

Week 5: Living and Dining Room

In House 1, Dan and Dani wer divided over the Venetian plaster fire place.

Dan didn’t like it one little bit, while Dani could be persuaded but thought it looked “dirty”.

Walking into Sonny and Alicia’s living and dining space, there was one element both Dan and Dani urged the couple to just “get rid of”.

The furniture was far too squished for their liking and eyeing off their dining table, Dan spotted a detail lurking underneath that he absolutely “hated”.

And in Robby and Mat’s winning living and dining room, there was one feature Dan certainly didn’t approve of.

He discovered it once he looked up.

Week 4: Main Bedroom and Walk-In Robe

Walking into Sonny and Alicia’s space, Dan started by complimenting the layout of their walk-in robe, but it was that point wife Dani erupted.

You can only imagine what the duo had to say about Han and Can’s Santiago Blue feature arch.

In Emma and Ben’s main bedroom, Dan spotted a feature he usually “hates”.

Dan and Dani couldn’t stop singing praises in Robby and Mat’s walk-in Robe but when it came to some features in their main bedroom the couple asked themselves, “What is the point?”

Week 3: Main Ensuite

Walking into Britt and Taz’s ‘spa retreat’, Dan labelled their shower screen an “absolute dog’s breakfast”.

Surprisingly, Dan and Dani approved of Sonny and Alicia’s layout change but that was about it.

Dani felt immediate impact in Han and Can’s winning ensuite, and not in a good way.

“I don’t like it,” Dani said of their statement resin bathtub.

Things finally improved in Emma and Ben’s main ensuite and Dan was pleasantly surprised by their tiles after initially predicting they were going to be “horrible”.

Week 2: Kids Bedrooms

Stepping into into Britt and Taz’s winning room, Dani was “disappointed”. Apart from the curved bedhead she found the rest of the space completely “underwhelming”.

House 4’s room initially garnered some “oohs” and “ahhs” but upon closer inspection Dani felt the blue colour palette was a little “glum”.

Dani felt some sympathy for Robby and Mat considering they had to use that grandpa bedhead.

They also had plenty of opinions when it came to Emma and Ben’s rooms but you’ll have to watch the video above to find out.

Week 1: Main Bathroom

Dani couldn’t stop praising spa-like Emma and Ben’s Main Bathroom, that was until she spotted an almighty error.

Walking into House 2 they labelled one of Han and Can’s bathroom features “the ugliest thing”.

Dan and Dani clashed when it came to their verdict on Britt and Taz’s bathroom and they were finally impressed in Sonny and Alicia’s space.

As for what they thought of winners Robby and Mat’s bathroom? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.

Who are Dan and Dani?

The couple are two of the most familiar faces on The Block having first appeared in Season 5 in 2012 as contestants. The couple returned in 2013 for The Block All Stars.

Their Block career didn’t end there with Dan, a certified builder, working alongside Keith as a Foreman – a gig he started back in 2015 under the title ‘foreboy’.

After Keith stepped down in 2024, Dan took on the role as sole Foreman.

Dan and Dani tied the knot in 2018 after nine years together in an intimate ceremony on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
