It’s safe to say Married At First Sight‘s Susie Bradley and NRL star Todd Carney have had an incredible, rollercoaster journey – but the happy couple are now loving married life.

In June 2025, they celebrated six months of being husband and wife following their January wedding.

Susie and Todd, who previously played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Sydney Roosters and the Canberra Raiders, married surrounded by friends and family at their home in Queensland six years after they first crossed paths.

“6 months of being your wife. Thanks bubbyyyyyyy,” Susie, 39, celebrated alongside a sweet selfie with her husband, 39.

From the moment they met in 2019 to tying the knot, we’re taking a trip down memory lane and reminiscing on Susie and Todd’s biggest relationship milestones.

Susie and Todd meet after MAFS

The nation first met Susie during 2019’s Season 6 of Married At First Sight, where she was partnered with Billy Vincent.

While she didn’t find love on the show, shortly after the experiment she told Talking Married she’d started speaking to Todd on Instagram.

“It was a little bit of a like-for-like scenario, and then he messaged me, and then we met up, and we haven’t left each other’s side since,” she said.

Soon after, the couple went on to share an abundance of loved-up photos together, proving they were well and truly smitten.

Susie and Todd announce they’re expecting their first child together

When the couple got together, Todd stepped into the role of stepfather to Susie’s daughter, Baby.

Then in December 2020, they confirmed their family was expanding.

The big reveal came on Christmas Day, followed by a gender reveal announcement on New Year’s Eve.

Susie and Todd are engaged

Yep, their gender reveal was a very special double announcement!

As well as confirming they were expecting a baby boy, Susie and Todd also confirmed their engagement at the same time.

“We all have dreams and in 2020 all mine have come true,” Todd posted to his Instagram account.

“2021 my greatest gift is going to happen with a little Todd on the way and I’ll marry my best friend Susie.”

Susie and Todd welcome their son

Susie and Todd welcomed their first child together in March 2021, and named him Lion Daryl Carney.

“A lion’s most common traits are majesty, strength, courage, justice and might. A lion stands for both gentleness and power all rolled into one. A lion in your life enables you to bring positive changes in the lives of yourself, your family and your friends,” they shared.

“We love you our little Lion. You will be one of the greats.”

Susie and Todd briefly split

In 2022, the couple briefly split with Susie confirming she was single in June of that year.

The cosmetic nurse took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal she was “officially single”.

Alongside photos of herself with a glass of wine in hand, Susie wrote, “Officially a member of the Hot Single Girl’s Club! What’s good to do? 😂 #ifyoucantlaughyoullcry.”

Susie and Todd rekindle – and open up about their time apart

In May 2023, Susie confirmed to 9Entertainment that she and Todd were back together.

“Without delving into it too heavily, Todd and I met right at the end of his professional career. He’d only been technically retired for about three months from professional football,” she explained at the time.

Susie described Todd’s life change as a huge “transition phase”, and one which he’d never faced before.

“I’d already been through one breakup with [daughter] Baby’s dad and I wasn’t going to waste any more of my time in a relationship that I felt wasn’t the best for both people at the time.

“We took some time and things have worked out how they’re supposed to.”

Todd shares details of his sobriety

In October 2023, Todd opened up out about their reunion on The Bye Round with James Graham podcast, saying his struggles with alcohol ultimately led to a seven-month break-up.

When Susie started to question his habits, it resulted in the pair splitting for seven months – something Todd said was “a big kick in the guts” at the time.

One moment in particular hit Todd hard, as he admitted a moment he was brushing his teeth in the mirror and “physically couldn’t look at myself.”

He rang Susie and told her he needed to make a change.

After that, Todd ended up going to rehab for 30 days.

“Me and Susie had a discussion. If I came out of there and I didn’t want to be with [her] or we [weren’t] going to be able to sort it out, that was OK because I was doing it for myself for once,” he said.

Fortunately, with love and support from Susie the couple were able to get their relationship back on track and Todd is now sober.

After getting back on track, the couple made an exciting announcement.

“We bought our very own slice of county hinterland paradise 🌿🪵🌲,” Susie gushed alongside sweet family snaps from their property.

Susie and Todd are engaged – again!

In May 2024, Todd popped the question once again at a beach special to their relationship.

“We met on the Saturday. On the Sunday he took me to this beach were we ate pizza and watched the sunset, and he said the words to me ‘lay back on me’,” Susie recalled.

“It was in this very moment, on this very beach, laying back in his arms I knew. I knew I would love him forever.”

Todd wrote ‘Will you marry me?” in the sand before getting down on one knee.

Making the proposal even more special was the fact that the pair’s children were present for the big moment.

In January 2025, the couple tied the knot in a special ceremony at their own home in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The bride looked picture perfect in a backless halter-neck wedding dress.

She wore a gorgeous floor-length veil that skimmed the ground behind her as she walked down the aisle to meet her future husband, who looked dapper in a black and white tuxedo.

Susie and Todd settle into married life

After their wedding, the newly married couple jetted off for a honeymoon with the best of both worlds – a snowy winter in New York City before soaking up the sun in Hawaii.

To celebrate Todd’s birthday in June 2025, Susie shared a lengthy tribute reflecting on their ups, downs and everything in between.

“Right from the very beginning, I knew what we had was special. The kind of love that would conquer all life’s ups and downs and a happily ever after that would inevitably follow,” she wrote.

“There’s not a moment I regret, a path we took or a challenge we had to face that I am not thankful for everyday because without it, we would not share the unbreakable love and bond we have today.”
