Guy Sebastian has revealed his wife was hesitant to have children when they first started dating.

The singer, 41, spoke to Who Australia on Thursday about his wife Jules’, 41, fear of motherhood.

‘Jules was a tomboy growing up. You know how some women growing up are kind of like, “I just can’t wait to be a mum?”‘ began the Australian Idol star.

‘Whereas Jules was petrified of it,’ Guy explained.

‘I never heard the words “I want to be mum” ever come out of her mouth because I think she was scared that she wouldn’t do a good job,’ he said.

Despite her reservations, Guy claims Jules has naturally taken to motherhood with the couple’s two sons, Hudson, 11, and Archer, 9.

‘The thing that I’ve seen her do unbelievably well is be a mum,’ the pop star said, praising his wife.

‘I think you have a newfound love for your partner when you see them in a role like that – nurturing and looking after the people that matter the most to you. She’s killing it!’ he added.

Jules, a successful television presenter, stylist, and social media star in her own right, understood parenthood as a ‘massive responsibility.’

She is also ‘killing it’ with a busy schedule of brand collaborations with L’Oreal, Nature’s Way, and ModelCo, as well as styling celebrity clients such as Mel B, Jessica Mauboy, The Veronicas, and Samantha Jade.

The pair have been together since 1999, but knew each other for years before this.

‘My wife has known me since I was 12 years old. She knows my family. She knows my background. So, she’s always brought me back down to earth,’ Guy has said previously.

Despite the family bliss and career success, the Sebastian clan has recently been troubled by a dramatic legal battle.

Guy’s former manager Titus Day, 49, was found guilty of stealing more than $650,000 from the singer last year, but in June was granted bail after launching an appeal against his conviction.

During the trial, The Voice judge was forced to reveal intimate details of his finances, including sometimes astronomical fees for performances and so-called ‘contra’ deals.

Sebastian – who never signed a contract with Day – had so much money coming in from so many sources he did not notice hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from his bank account for years.

Sebastian was paid $494,360 to support Taylor Swift during the four-city Australian leg of her ‘The Red Tour’ in December 2013.

He charged $54,341 to sing at a wedding in Jakarta in July 2017 and McDonald’s paid the entertainer $66,000 to appear at a conference in September that year.

The hit-maker also received $49,114.62 for singing at Allianz Stadium in Sydney during the British and Irish Lions rugby tour in 2013.
