Married At First Sight’s Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Vega-Sobinoff has shared she suffered a miscarriage before falling pregnant with her second child.
Lizzie penned a heartbreaking reflection as she “said goodbye” to the pregnancy chapter of her life, confirming she didn’t see herself having anymore children.
Lizzie and her husband Alex Vega are proud parents to a girl, 18 months old, and a boy, three months old. They’ve chosen to keep both children’s names private.

Lizzie bravely shared her story: “My babies are 17 months apart. I had a miscarriage between my two pregnancies. I lost a baby. The baby had a strong heartbeat after my first scan. Which my husband and I allowed ourselves to be excited.
“Less than 48 hours later I was experiencing a threatened miscarriage. The scan was on a Wednesday and by that Sunday I lost the baby.”
The 32-year-old said after the devastating loss of her baby she felt she needed to give herself a rest, but just a week-and-a-half later she fell pregnant again with her son.

“I was told my baby could be a very low birthweight and needed to be monitored closely with extra scans and take aspirin throughout my pregnancy to thin my blood. Fast forward to the future I had a baby boy of an extremely healthy weight of an induce labour at 38 weeks,” Lizzie continued.
“I just lost a baby that I wanted so badly. Then I fell pregnant and I was told this. I hadn’t dealt with my emotions. I pushed it down, deep inside. I remember getting the phone call that I was pregnant. My girlfriend was with me and I cried with happiness.”

For two-and-a-half straight years, Lizzie has dealt with the highs and lows of pregnancy, birth, motherhood and loss.
But Lizzie is ready to start a new phase in her life as she raises her young children.
“Now I find I’m on the journey of enjoying my children and finding my new identity, other than being pregnant. It is bittersweet,” she wrote.
She shared these words of validation to others struggling with pregnancy: “First of all, to anyone that has lost or in the process of trying to become pregnant. I hope you feel seen. I hope you feel valid. I’m only comfortable to share the fact I had a miscarriage now. I hope you don’t feel alone.
“Saying goodbye to a chapter of life that had its ups and downs. It is bittersweet to say goodbye to that chapter of my life. I have my two babies and it is the most beautiful feeling in the world.”

While another said, “Never forget how strong you are.”
Lizzie’s life after MAFS
Lizzie first appeared on MAFS in Season 6 where she was matched with Sam Ball. Things started off rocky between the pair, with Sam body shaming her on their wedding day. It only got worse when he pursued a relationship with fellow bride Ines Basic.
Lizzie returned to the experiment in 2020 for Season 7, where she walked down the aisle again to be matched with Seb Guilhaus. The couple continued their relationship outside of the experiment but split after a year.
The MAFS star confirmed she’d tied the knot to partner Alexander Vega in January 2023.

Lizzie went public with her relationship with Alex just months earlier in April 2022 after months of keeping their romance private.
“As a whole, I’m incredibly private, I did reality TV a lifetime ago. I’m so protective over my partner and there are so many negative, gossiping people out there, that go out of their way to talk trash,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
