Rodger Corser is a household name for his roles on much-loved Aussie TV shows like Doctor Doctor, McLeod’s Daughters and now The Floor.
In October 2025, Rodger returned to where it all began – the stage of Rent the Musical – a show that gave him his breakthrough role and his first child.
“Special night last night at the Opera House, where some of the original 98/99 cast of RENT were invited to join the amazing current cast on stage,” Rodger reminisced on Instagram.

“Thinking of all our other OGs who weren’t there including two special men Mark Ford and Cliff Oliver who we have lost along the journey. This show was pivotal for all of us (even gave me a daughter @zipporraahh 😘).”
As Rodger took a trip down memory lane we thought we would too.
From his forgotten celebrity romance with Christine Anu to his most memorable role on Doctor Doctor and life as a dad of four, let’s take a look back at Rodger Corser’s life on and off the stage:
Rodger gets his big break on Rent – 1998
Back in 1998, Rodger sported frosted blonde tips and had been playing pub gigs as a singer-slash-guitarist for a band named Hype.
At 25 and with no previous acting experience, Rodger snapped up the role of Roger Davis (yes, Roger) a struggling musician who is HIV positive in the original Australian production of the musical Rent.

Despite having never acted before, Rodger had four years of media studies under his belt and his brother Campbell, who had a drama degree, to ask for pointers.
It was on the set of Rent that Rodger met Christine Anu who would change his life forever…
Rodger’s romance with Christine Anu
As far as celebrity romances are concerned, many often forget that Rodger and iconic Australian singer Christine Anu were an item many moons ago.
They met on the set of Rent in 1998, Christine played Mimi, Rodger’s character Roger’s love interest.
The chemistry on stage soon translated into real life and the theatre sweethearts fell in love and soon catapulted into showbiz power couple territory.

Christine had a son Kuiam from a previous relationship so Rodger first became a step-father before he and Christine welcome daughter Zipporah in 2002.
Rodger and Christine split after six years together but have harmoniously co-parented Zipporah.
She’s followed both of her parents’ footsteps into the entertainment industry, going to performing arts school and becoming a singer, songwriter and dancer.

Rodger’s life with wife Renae
Showbiz brought Rodger love yet again in 2005 when he met theatre actress Renae Berry.
Renae was starring as the lead actress in a Saturday Night Fever show in Melbourne while Rodger was sitting in the audience on opening night.
With a little nudge from agent Mark Byrne, Rodger asked for Renae’s number at the after party. Since then not a day has gone by that they haven’t spoken.

The couple faced challenges early on in their relationship. Just a few months after Rodger and Renae started dating she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Doctors told Renae that she wasn’t likely to live longer than four years and wasn’t likely to ever have children.
Renae beat the cancer, she and Rodger tied the knot in October 2007 and they welcomed three beautiful children together, son Budd, 15, daughter Cilla, 13, and another son Dustin, 10.

“15 years of being Mrs Corser and to celebrate I thought I’d change my insta handle to my legal name. Happy anniversary my RC love infinity your RC,” Renae wrote.

Rodger changes gears
After playing the leading man on Aussie TV for years, Rodger decided to switch up his CV and stepped into hosting.
He faced a career crossroads as acting roles started drying up.
“The industry in this country has thinned out considerably, so you end up broadening what you think you can do,” he said on the Stellar podcast Something To Talk About.

“I think I’ve always been a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, and willing to try new things – just really out of necessity.”
Rodger tried his hand a different format at television and hosted the reality show The Traitors Australia which ran on Network 10 for two seasons in 2022 and 2023.
Rodger takes to The Floor
At 52 and with his extensive experience in television, Rodger became the front man of Channel 9’s trivia show The Floor.
It became a national success when it premiered in early 2025.

“Not just families but artsy actor type people too.”
