As the Montreal Canadiens navigate a pivotal offseason, all eyes are on the team’s negotiations with promising young defenseman Jayden Struble.

With his arbitration hearing now officially scheduled, speculation is mounting that a deal could be reached even before the deadline.

The buzz among insiders and fans alike suggests that the Canadiens are eager to secure Struble’s talents for the seasons ahead, solidifying their blue line depth as they prepare for another competitive campaign.

At just 23 years old, Struble has already shown flashes of his potential, making him a key piece in the club’s ongoing rebuild.

With a crowded field of defensemen vying for roster spots, the outcome of these talks could have significant implications for the team’s defensive corps. As anticipation builds, the next few days promise to be crucial, not only for Struble’s future but also for the Canadiens’ plans moving forward.

In the past few minutes, we reported the announcement of the arbitration hearing date for Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jayden Struble.

This means that, indeed, both Robertson (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Struble will have a ruling within a few days.

However, that doesn’t mean things can’t be resolved before that date-on the contrary!

RUMOR: Canadiens expected to announce Jayden Struble signing in the next few days, before August 3

That’s what the excellent Marco D’Amico believes.

“The Montreal Canadiens have their arbitration audience with Jayden Struble scheduled for the 3rd of August.

It’s very likely that the Canadiens come to terms with Struble prior to that date.”

So don’t be surprised if, within the next few days-or even hours-the Montreal Canadiens announce the signing of 23-year-old defenseman Jayden Struble.

There’s quite a bit of smoke pointing in that direction.

Jayden Struble, 23 years old, is a 6-foot, 207-pound left-handed defenseman.

Selected 46th overall by the Canadiens in 2019 (second round), he has 23 points and 109 penalty minutes in 112 career games in the NHL.

Last season, he recorded 13 points in 56 games, with a positive plus-minus of +2. He also played two games with the Laval Rocket.

The current scenario is quite clear.

Kaiden Guhle, Noah Dobson, Lane Hutson, Mike Matheson, and Alexandre Carrier will be five of the Canadiens’ regular defensemen.

That sixth spot will be contested between Jayden Struble, Arber Xhekaj, and David Reinbacher.

Who do you think will win that 6th spot?
