Married At First Sight‘s Katie Johnston is feeling very proud of herself revealing a major weight loss transformation.

The 2025 bride has shared her experience with a personal trainer, nutritionist, and with the advice of her GP, weight loss medication over the past few months, unveiling the results of a lifestyle overhaul on A Current Affair.

“I’ve made myself so bloody proud. Not for the way I look (which is 🔥 haha) but for how hard I’ve worked to get back to good health, well actually to good holistic health for the first time. Mental health + emotional health + physical health (NEW!). Yay!” Katie shared on social media.

Katie has lost 28 kilograms from her heaviest weight and as a DEXA scan showed, had crucially dropped visceral fat around her organs.

“It wasn’t easy, it was really hard, but 12 weeks to save your life? Worth every bit of effort. 💪” she shared.

It’s not just her celebrating, either.

Katie’s 110,000 Instagram followers, including many of her MAFS cast mates, showed their support for her incredible journey.

In May, Katie opened up to A Current Affair about a sexual assault when she was 20 years old. She explained that the experience lead her to unhealthy habits that she was now ready to break.

“I’ve only recently kind of really realised what those traumas have done to me and how I’ve suppressed them, and how I’ve stuffed them down with comfort, which for me is food, and made myself feel safe by making myself bigger and being less attractive and hiding,” she said.

“And I don’t want to do that anymore.”

Two months on, the restaurant CEO was looking forward to a brighter, healthier future.

“What this moment represents is something so much deeper. Through the hardest seasons of my life, I’ve come out the other side wiser, stronger, and more resilient than ever. For the first time in my self-love journey, I’ve turned my attention to my physical health – not for approval, but for me,” Katie shared, saying she was now “thriving instead of just surviving”.

Katie was matched with Tim in the experiment, but their marriage was short-lived.

From their wedding day, Tim said he had no attraction to Katie and that set the tone for the rest of their marriage with the groom eventually fleeing back home to Melbourne.

They officially ended things at the very first Commitment Ceremony.

Despite her short time on the series, the restaurant CEO became a fan-favourite bride and now boasts an impressive 110k Instagram followers.
