Martha Stewart needs no introduction. Queen of domesticity. First self-made female billionaire. Cultural icon.

The 83-year-old has broken records throughout her 60-year career in the entertainment industry, and she continues to surprise even now. This was certainly the case when she sat down with Yahoo Lifestyle to speak about her latest beauty partnership with Rexona last week, revealing a controversial towel hack that doubled as a sneak peek into her personal life.

After a long, hot day in the Australian sun, Martha claims there is one thing we all should be doing — admitting she, too, slips it into her daily routine after taking a shower.

“What I do, and everybody should do this, is the towel that I dry myself with, I then dry the inside of the door that is wet, then I dry the walls, and then I dry the floor of the shower, so it is perfectly clean for tomorrow,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“You just don’t hang that towel up again and use it; you just have a fresh towel the next day. That’s the hack,” she said, confirming she uses a new towel every day for her showers. Surprised? Us neither.

She also let us in on another tidbit, explaining she strictly uses “black or dark brown wash cloths” for taking off her make-up, encouraging others not to use “nice white pristine” towels for the task.

“Just use those for steaming your face or something,” she suggested, telling us her makeup towels are embroidered.

Australians can expect to see more of Martha now she’s the face of Rexona’s whole body deodorant, a two-product range that can be used all over the body to fight off sweat.

In a cheeky How-To video, Martha demonstrated that the spray and cream can both be used everywhere, including the breasts and, you guessed it, down there. She even sneaked in a joke about feet pics.

It’s a full circle moment for Martha, who told Yahoo Lifestyle she was tickled to once again be the face of a deodorant after starring in a commercial for body odour soap, Lifebuoy Soap, back in 1956 when she was only 15.

“I played a young married woman,” she explained. “The man is picking me up in the air by my waist, and we’re laughing, and my arms are up, and, you know, there’s no sweaty armpits.

“I just thought it was hysterical, here it is years later, and I am making another all-over-the-body deodorant commercial.”
