The tensions were high during the Stanley Cup Finals, and after the Panthers win, Matthew Tkachuk’s sister called out the partner of Connor McDavid.

The Stanley Cup Finals this season was full of intensity and tension on the ice, but away from it, there was plenty of trash talking as well, as Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren began with a subtle shot at Matthew Tkachuk on social media.

In a post on social media after Game 3, she posted a photo of Alberta being rat free since 1950, and while there was no mention of Matthew Tkachuk, who is often referred to as a rat, everyone clearly knew it was a shot at the Panthers star forward, who was once a rival with the Calgary Flames.

After the Panthers victory, Matthew’s sister Taryn couldn’t resist taking a shot back on social media, as she continued to celebrate the back-to-back Stanley Cup wins for her brother.

Not only did Taryn caption the post ‘it was always the rats’, but she played the song Pink Pony Club alongside it, a song that became very popular in the Oilers locker room during their run to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Once again, no mention was made of Lauren McDavid or her earlier shots at the Panthers in the series, but given the caption, it’s safe to say that she was sending a message to the wife of the Oilers captain.

Ultimately, this appears to be all fun and games between people who are very passionate about their family and their involvement in the Stanley Cup Finals, but until next year at the very earliest, it’s safe to say that the Tkachuk’s and the Panthers have all the bragging rights in this rivalry.
