It looks like the Miami Dolphins are seriously exploring a move that would send star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Philadelphia Eagles in a blockbuster deal.
According to ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques , Miami is looking to part ways with Ramsey, who remains one of the NFL’s elite cornerbacks. The idea of trading a player of Ramsey’s caliber is bold, but the Dolphins seem focused on reshaping their roster quickly.
Ramsey, a six-time Pro Bowler, still has plenty left in the tank. In 17 games last season, he racked up 60 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, and 11 pass deflections. He’s still a difference-maker, and teams around the league know it.
One team in particular- the Philadelphia Eagles- might be ready to move.

The trade proposal making the rounds would send Jalen Ramsey, the 13th pick in this year’s draft, and a second-rounder next year to the Eagles. In return, the Dolphins would receive wide receiver DeVonta Smith and the 32nd pick. That move would reunite Smith with college teammate Jaylen Waddle in Miami and give quarterback Tua Tagovailoa a devastating trio alongside Tyreek Hill.
Smith, who turns 26 this year, recently signed a four-year extension worth $25 million annually. In 13 games last season, he posted 68 catches for 833 yards and eight touchdowns, then added 190 yards and a score in the postseason. Miami sees him as a long-term asset who can stretch the field and deliver in big moments.
The Eagles, meanwhile, are facing a major transition on defense. Veterans Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox all left in free agency. Pairing Ramsey with rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean could fast-track their development. Ramsey’s leadership and experience would be invaluable in a locker room undergoing major changes.
With the 19th pick still in their pocket, the Eagles could move up in the draft or target defenders like Malaki Starks or Shemar Stewart to rebuild a front that lost key players. Losing Smith would sting, but they could turn to promising receivers like Tetairoa McMillan or Luther Burden III in the first round to reload.
Nothing is official yet, but all signs indicate the Miami Dolphins wanting a deal done quickly. With the draft approaching, a major shakeup could hit both teams sooner than expected.
