This off-season has been a wild one for Mitch Marner, and after his recent interview enraged fans on social media, it’s safe to say that his return to Toronto isn’t going to be very well received.

However, there was the chance for this to be very different, as Marner was brought up in a 1 for 1 trade involving Mikko Rantanen and the Carolina Hurricanes at the trade deadline, a deal in which Marner shut down with his no-trade clause.
