The 2025 NHL Draft is quietly approaching fast. In about twenty days, we’ll find out what Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have decided to do with their 16th and 17th overall picks.

That said, we’re currently in a key phase leading up to the draft: the famous NHL Combine. Several journalists are on-site, including the excellent Nicolas Cloutier from TVA Sports.

In an interview on BPM Sports, Cloutier shared some interesting information.

“The Canadiens would be very happy if Brady Martin or Carter Bear, two very gritty forwards, were to fall to the 16th spot.”

Now that’s interesting!

Brady Martin and Carter Bear Are Reportedly Two Targets for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

We were already quite familiar with Bear, whose name has been circulating a lot in recent days, but it’s intriguing to learn about young Martin as well.

“Not only is Brady Martin the hardest hitter in his draft class, but he’d be one of the hardest hitters in the entire National Hockey League if he played tomorrow morning.”

I love it! These are two names to keep a close eye on.

Brady Martin, 18 years old, is a rugged forward standing 6 feet tall and weighing 178 pounds. He tallied 72 points in 57 games this season in the OHL, including 33 goals, and added 4 points in 5 playoff games.

He definitely seems like a solid fit for the Habs.
