Lemay then insisted that he would make this trade tomorrow morning and isn’t even sure it would be enough for the Penguins, offering Caufield and two first-round picks in exchange for Sidney Crosby.

He pointed out that people overlook all the ripple effects such an acquisition could have for the Montreal Canadiens.

Crosby, 37, has 58 points in 55 games this season with the Penguins. He is absolutely still an elite player.
