We suspected it, but it has now been officially confirmed by the Montreal Canadiens organization for the young rookie forward Emil Heineman.

Underrated reinforcements are officially joining Martin St-Louis’ lineup, as Heineman has finally received medical clearance, a few weeks after the car incident he was involved in at Salt Lake City, Utah, just hours before a scheduled game against Utah HC.

He is reclaiming his spot alongside Jake Evans and Joel Armia, while Patrik Laine is moving back into the top six (on the second line with Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook).

Emil Heineman joins Martin St-Louis’ lineup and the Montreal Canadiens tonight against the Ottawa Senators

That gives us the following lineup:

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky

Newhook-Dach-Laine

Anderson-Dvorak-Gallagher

Heineman-Evans-Armia

Emil Heineman, 23 years old, has recorded 17 points in 41 games this season with the Canadiens, including ten goals, and he is having a strong rookie season!

Without realizing it, his absence had a bigger impact on the team’s success than expected, so his return will be a huge boost.

“For sure it was tough. There wasn’t anything I’d rather do than hop on the ice and play. We were in a good place and I felt good too, so it was a really big bummer for me. I was really excited to keep going..I’m just happy to be back.”
