We were treated to an excellent hockey game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Florida Panthers.

Thanks to the brilliance of Nick Suzuki and Lane Hutson, in particular, Martin St-Louis’ squad managed to grab a huge two points against the reigning Stanley Cup champions.

This game was also marked by several messages directed at Florida Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola, notably by a certain Brendan Gallagher.

Well, according to what’s been circulating for the past few hours, due to the following sequence..

Brendan Gallagher could also be sanctioned and fined by the National Hockey League.

A fine for Brendan Gallagher for trying to aim the puck at Niko Mikkola last night?

That would be completely ridiculous if you ask me, but the NHL will have to analyze (in the coming hours) whether Gallagher’s gesture was intentional.

If that’s the case, he could be fined, but I can’t believe they’d dare, and I can’t believe they could be certain of Gally’s intent on that play.

As for Mikkola, he received a $5,000 fine.

Gallagher played another strong game last night, and once again he was everywhere helping his teammates.

He finished the game with a positive +1 rating, one blocked shot, and one shot on goal.

We’re lucky to have this guy in Montreal!
