The Montreal Canadiens managed to win their most important game of the year last night at the Bell Centre against the Carolina Hurricanes.

We experienced some wonderful moments, and it even continued inside the Canadiens’ locker room.

On the ice, the smiles went on and on!

It was magical, and my favorite moment (aside from the touching scene involving Brendan Gallagher and Lucie Lachance) was when Nick Suzuki took the mic.

It’s so rare to see Nick Suzuki being so emotional and expressive, and I absolutely loved it!

You don’t often see Nick Suzuki being this emotional. [last night]

However, not everyone appreciated it, which I find both embarrassing and ridiculous.

Some are criticizing Nick Suzuki and the Montreal Canadiens organization for their little post-game ceremony, saying they “only managed to qualify for the playoffs”

It’s unbelievable.

Basically, the criticism is that Suzuki grabbed the mic to speak to the crowd and “made a whole scene” with a ceremony and all.. just for making the playoffs.

But what these people don’t understand is, first of all, it’s an incredible achievement for the Canadiens to have clinched a playoff spot this season (with less than a 2% chance of doing so at mid-season).

And secondly (and most importantly), what these critics don’t realize is that the Canadiens do a ceremony like this at the end of every regular season.

More details to come.
