Obviously, we were all eager to see which line-and with which linemates-Ivan Demidov would begin his journey with the Montreal Canadiens.
We finally have our answer.
But that’s not all.
Already a role for Ivan Demidov on the power play
In addition to revealing his lines, St-Louis-for one of the rare times-also agreed to share, during a press conference, the changes that will be made to the power play.
For now, Patrik Laine, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Lane Hutson will all remain on the first power play unit.
That doesn’t mean Demidov won’t have a role on the man advantage, however:
“Ivan Demidov will be on the Canadiens’ second power play unit..”
– Stu Cowan
“Demidov will play on the second PP.
– Eric Engels
There you have it!
I have a feeling it won’t take long before Ivan Demidov is promoted to the first power play unit alongside his good friend Lane Hutson.
As we reported earlier, Hutson has taken Demidov under his wing since his arrival and has been driving him around.
Let’s not forget, the Montreal Canadiens face off against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 7:00 PM at the Bell Centre.
A win in any fashion would clinch the Habs a spot in the playoffs!
