We finally have some concrete action when it comes to NHL trade rumors involving the Pittsburgh Penguins.

According to a new report from the well-connected Josh Yohe, a Pittsburgh journalist, all signs point to the Penguins announcing “one or two big trades” before the start of training camp – literally in the next few weeks.

So yes, the Penguins are clearly heading toward a full rebuild (and teardown), which certainly won’t make Sidney Crosby happy.

All the details are in his full article, but this will definitely add some spice to the month of August.

Multiple Penguins Players Are Available on the Trade Market

Among the names available are the highly talented Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin, and more.. In short, all Penguins players except for a certain No. 87.

This will be a fascinating storyline to follow.

Rakell recorded 70 points in 81 games last season.

Rust tallied 65 points in 71 games last season.

Karlsson posted 53 points in 82 games last season.

Malkin notched 50 points in 68 games – still quite productive. Depending on the price, he would definitely be the one I’d target most.

And on top of that, he might even help lure a certain Sidney Crosby back later on.
