The Pittsburgh Penguins have in fact already announced their decision regarding Sidney Crosby’s presence against the Montreal Canadiens.

We were eagerly awaiting this verdict, because it could have created an incredible moment to see number 87 play again at the Bell Centre, knowing what’s going on with trade rumors, knowing everything that happened this summer, and knowing how much Crosby loves Montreal!

However, I imagine it will just be postponed..

The Penguins have in fact decided not to send Sidney Crosby to play the game in Montreal

This information comes from TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie and was relayed by Charles-Alexis Brisebois (DLC).

“Crosby will not be in Montreal next week (Monday) for the preseason game between the Penguins and the Habs.

The journalist confirmed it on BPM Sports’ morning show since Crosby told him he wouldn’t be there when asked about it in Vegas at the beginning of the month.”

To listen to Renaud Lavoie’s full segment of the day, it’s right here.

Do the Penguins fear the immense wave of love that Sidney Crosby would have received from Montreal Canadiens fans?

That’s possible, but it’s also possible they simply want to keep Crosby fresh and ready for their home games.

After all, Sidney Crosby’s games in Pittsburgh might be relatively limited..

One thing is certain, the Penguins’ start to the season will be extremely interesting to watch, because if they were to start the season, let’s say, with a record of 3 wins and 15 losses.. The Crosby situation could take a very interesting turn.

More details to come.
