Former MasterChef contestant Pete Campbell has had a tough year. The chef was meant to take part in this year’s Back to Win season, but was forced to leave the competition after being diagnosed with cancer.

Pete announced the news in January by sharing a photo of himself after chopping off his long locks, with the caption: “New look for my cancer/chemo era… hodgkin lymphoma, you dog.”

In June, he revealed he was officially “cancer-free” after undergoing chemotherapy.

On Monday, the former MasterChef star shared a photo of himself barbecuing while using crutches, with one foot in a moon boot.

“The 2025 f**kery continues 🩼,” he joked in the caption.

“Oh what happened Pete!” one person wrote. “Thinking of you. Lots of love and healthy vibes!”

Thankfully, it wasn’t anything too bad (albeit still painful), and Pete responded, “Dropped a grill plate on my toe, silly boy.”

“The good news is it’s only the toe,” another replied. “That you can deal with.”

“Good to see you enjoying your cooking again Pete,” a third said. “And to see you looking so well.”

“Keep it up, and we’ll have to bubble wrap you, rest up,” someone else joked.

“Good to see you back to cooking again, though please be careful,” another person said. “Missed you on MasterChef back to win. Hope you will get chance next time they do back to win season.”

“Oh Pete. Look after yourself,” yet another said, and Pete responded, “That’s always the plan, but then…”
