Tensions are brewing on the set of The Block, with WA contestants Han and Can once again at the centre of drama after being excluded from a group dinner.

During Monday night’s episode, the teams escaped the worksite for a pub outing organised by South Australian duo Robby and Mat.

The gathering also doubled as a reunion for Mat with his partner and their newborn son.

But while most contestants piled into cars for the night out, Han and Can were nowhere to be seen.

‘I don’t think we’re invited. I don’t think so. It’s not that vibe,’ Han told Victorian contestant Emma, who had stopped to ask if they needed a lift.

Emma insisted that all teams were welcome and asked if the pair had received a message from Robby with the dinner details.

‘Nah, no message – and that’s enough,’ Han replied before slamming the door.

Robby later claimed the shock decision wasn’t about exclusion, but health concerns for the wider group, especially given a baby was in attendance.

‘They weren’t “not invited”… they were not allowed to come. They have been extremely unwell, and I don’t want to be in that position. I think if you were going to come, it would be selfish,’ he said.

However, Han viewed the snub differently.

‘I’ve experienced [things like this] in primary school and high school; it’s not my first rodeo. It would’ve been nice to have been asked, and then said we can’t because we’re really sick,’ she said.

Han maintained a brave face in light of the snub: ‘It didn’t affect me that much… If I let that affect me, I would not survive here, that’s for sure.’

It comes amid a string of controversies involving the Perth-based teammates.

During Sunday’s episode, Foreman Dan was left frustrated and went to extreme lengths to prove Han and Can had lied straight to his face.

The drama unfolded after the pair were busted washing their dirty paint brushes and buckets under a tap outside their house – a clear breach of the show’s strict rules.

‘We’ve got springs everywhere. We don’t want to be contaminating our soil near the springs,’ Dan warned, reminding the pair that paint must only be disposed of in a designated wash space off-site.

But the couple flatly denied responsibility for the large coloured puddle pooling on the ground nearby, instead shifting the blame to a plasterer.

‘I’ve just come up and seen the girls rinsing their buckets of paint just here… they reckon they didn’t do this puddle, they reckon that was a plasterer or something,’ an unconvinced Dan told the cameras.

With tensions already running high between the foreman and the pair, Dan decided to call their bluff – retreating to the site office to comb through security camera footage.

Sure enough, the footage caught Can red-handed, rinsing her brushes and creating the exact puddle she denied making.

‘Why lie? Why would you lie about it?’ a frustrated Dan asked.

‘They’ve washed out paint on the ground, they’ve lied to me, they’re not taking ownership,’ he fumed.

Faced with the footage, Can issued a quick apology and promised it wouldn’t happen again – but in a cheeky to-camera piece, she brushed off the scandal with a grin.

‘It’s the first time that I have been caught and told off and it’ll be the last,’ she said.
