In a major twist on this year’s season of The Block, some of the show’s most iconic former contestants are making a dramatic return to the building site – but not everyone made the cut.
Daily Mail can exclusively reveal that a select group of past Blockheads have been invited back to mentor, surprise and stir up the new contestants.
And according to one senior producer, the decision on who returned came down to one simple rule.
‘We bring it up every year,’ they told Daily Mail.
‘It’s the “no d**kheads” policy. We’ve had 150 teams over the years and we’re mates with most of them—but not all.’

This time, the returning favourites aren’t just popping in for a cameo.
They’re stepping into a bigger role designed to shake things up behind the scenes – and on camera.
‘We wanted them to lift the energy and give the newbies a boost,’ the insider revealed. ‘They’ve lived through it and they get it – the pressure, the tears, the sleep deprivation.’
So, who’s back? Fan favourites Eliza and Liberty, Kristy and Brett, Steph and Gian, Maddy and Charlotte, and even the original twin troublemakers Alisa and Lysandra have all been spotted on the Daylesford site.
And it seems Steph and Gian, in particular, aren’t here to play it safe.
‘They’ve got something major up their sleeves,’ one crew member teased. ‘This isn’t just a warm welcome – it’s going to shake the season.’
Insiders say the returning contestants will bring game-changing twists to mark the show’s milestone 1000th episode later this year.
‘It’s not a cameo—it’s a passing of the trowel,’ one source joked. ‘These guys earned their stripes. They know what’s coming, and they’re here to make it count.’

With tensions already rising and familiar faces back in the mix, this season is shaping up to be one of The Block’s most unpredictable yet.
Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.
Filming on Channel Nine’s The Block 2025 has been well underway in regional Victoria since March.
In April, aerial photos revealed that this year’s season will feature some massive homes.
The sprawling construction site located in the tiny rural getaway of Daylesford, 112km from Melbourne, features five blocks.
Each of the two-storey homes follows an ‘H’-shaped layout, complete with courtyard spaces at both the front and rear.

A photo from the site shows that one team of Blockheads is well ahead of their rivals.
The contestants appear to have already completed most of the roofing which features several skylights.
It’s the renovation reality show that’s become an Aussie TV juggernaut – but this year, The Block promises to deliver the most demanding season yet.
Five couples from across the country have spent months building homes from scratch under high pressure, racing against tight deadlines and under new rules that have left them frozen, frazzled and – at times – in tears.
This year’s lineup includes WA police officers Britt and Taz, Perth pair Hannah and Can, Victorian couple Emma and Ben, Adelaide best mates Robby and Mat, and Gold Coast parents Sonny and Alicia.
