They might not have found love on their respective seasons of Farmer Wants A Wife, but 2024 star Farmer Bert Harris is rumoured to be “secretly dating” 2025 contestant Claire Hampson in a surprising turn of events. It’s been reported that Bert, who controversially quit last year’s season of the reality show, has been “swapping Instagram messages” with Claire after she decided to exit the current season.
According to Woman’s Day, Claire originally applied to be one of Bert’s contestants in 2024 but ended up being cast on the show the following year with Farmer Thomas. The publication claims Bert has recently started liking Claire’s Instagram posts, and he is a “big fan of the way she handled herself on the show”.

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle following the reports, Bert reveals that he and Claire had never actually messaged one another before the article was published.
“Just like most rumours getting around, there’s no truth to it,” he asserts. “Up until that article, Claire and I had never spoken before. Her first DM to me was actually that. We had a good laugh, spoke a little about the show, and that was more or less it.”

Meanwhile, Claire confirms to Yahoo Lifestyle that she applied to be one of Bert’s contestants last season, but nothing is going on between them.
“Prior to the article coming out, Farmer Bert and I had never spoken. However, I did send the article to him and we both had a good laugh about it,” she shares.
This comes after Claire revealed that producers asked her to return to the show following her shock exit, but she refused.
“I’d had a full Britney [Spears] moment and I’d already cut my hair into a bob, so I was like, ‘No, can’t come back’,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle. “Also, I was thinking like, if I did come back, the backlash would’ve probably been like, ‘Who does she think she is? She can’t get a second chance’.
“If it hadn’t been for the bob, I probably would have gone back. Imagine that! Could you imagine the look on Clarette’s face when I walked back in?”
