We’re getting to the pointy end of MasterChef Australia for 2025, with the final 8 contestants preparing to fight it out for the grand prize. The most recent elimination challenge saw fan-favourite chef Audra Morrice sent home after her paella failed to pass the test due to the inconsistency in the cooking of the seafood and rice.

For the cooks who escaped elimination, there was a very special treat in store: the news that they would be flying to Qatar for the next portion of the competition. The contestants, including Laura Sharrad, Callum Hann and Jamie Fleming, squealed in delight as they were handed their prop boarding passes for the impending flight.

Meanwhile, Laura, Jamie, Sarah Todd and Ben Macdonald were told that they would be flying business class on Qatar Airlines, as they had performed the best in the elimination challenge.

As the four lucky contestants rejoiced, viewers quickly took to social media to share their displeasure at what they saw as a glaring omission.

“How could you give the 4 of them business class tickets and not Callum!!!???,” one fan asked on Instagram. “He wins immunity so he doesn’t have to cook, should have given him first class seats!”

The disgruntled audience member was one of many who shared their ire that Callum, who had not competed in the elimination cook thanks to his immunity pin, was not included in the upgraded group.

“Come on MasterChef. You can’t shove Callum in the hold just because he was too good to have to compete,” someone else wrote on X.

“Surely Callum should go Business too?” another wrote.

“Callum flies first class?” another questioned.

“Hey, Callum should be in business class. He had immunity. Fair go,” yet another fan chimed in.

“As if Callum doesn’t get to fly business class. He was safe already!!,” someone else added.

Although Callum may not have flown business or first class to Doha, the beloved chef and author still has plenty to celebrate.

Callum and his wife, Crystal, recently welcomed their third child – a baby girl named Fleur.

The couple, who share daughter Elle and son Henry, made the announcement on June 24 with a sweet Instagram carousel of snaps.
