As the NHL offseason heats up, few topics have captured the attention of Montreal Canadiens fans quite like the swirling trade rumors surrounding Brendan Gallagher.

Known for his relentless drive and unwavering commitment on the ice, Gallagher’s name unexpectedly surfaced in the headlines this summer, igniting a wave of speculation and debate among hockey insiders, journalists, and the passionate Montreal fanbase.

Whispers of a blockbuster move began to circulate, fueled by reports from respected sources and amplified by the chatter surrounding the NHL Draft.

Could the Canadiens really be considering parting ways with one of their most beloved and tenacious leaders? The possibility seemed almost unthinkable, yet the rumor mill refused to slow down.

But just as the story reached a fever pitch, a well-known sports journalist stepped forward with new information that promises to turn the narrative on its head.

Renaud Lavoie, a trusted voice in hockey media, has revealed two surprising scoops that shed fresh light on Gallagher’s future in Montreal—and the truth might not be what fans expect.

What exactly did Lavoie uncover? Why are NHL teams still eager to pursue Gallagher despite his hefty contract? The answers are more intriguing than anyone could have predicted.

At the start of the summer, and around the time of the NHL Draft, a big trade rumour involving Brendan Gallagher surfaced.

It was the well-known David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period who reported it.

According to this information, Gallagher was therefore available on the NHL trade market.

However, this morning on BPM Sports, journalist Renaud Lavoie revealed two very interesting pieces of information about this famous rumour.

Renaud Lavoie reveals two scoops about Brendan Gallagher

First, the TVA Sports journalist denied this rumour.

“In no way do the Canadiens want to part ways with Brendan Gallagher.

The organization’s respect for this guy is very, very high.”

That’s excellent news! It’s the right decision by Kent Hughes.

And secondly, Renaud Lavoie added that if Gallagher were indeed to become available for a trade (which is not the case right now), several NHL teams would be interested in acquiring him.

“Desaulniers then asked him if there was really demand for a guy who isn’t playing up to his $6.5 million per year contract.. and Lavoie told him: you’d be surprised.

In other words? #11’s reputation is good across the NHL, and if he were available, teams would get involved.”

We’re lucky to have Brendan Gallagher in Montreal!
