The NHL world is once again buzzing with speculation, as new details emerge about a possible blockbuster trade involving Sidney Crosby and the Montreal Canadiens. With rumors swirling for months about what it might take to pry the Penguins’ legendary captain away from Pittsburgh, a credible voice has finally put a concrete offer on the table.

According to respected journalist Mathias Brunet, the Canadiens would be willing to part with both of their coveted first-round picks in the 2025 draft to land Crosby—a move that would send shockwaves through the league. While there’s no guarantee the Penguins would accept such an offer, or that Crosby himself would agree to join a rebuilding team, the mere possibility is enough to ignite passionate debate among fans and insiders alike. As the conversation heats up, one thing is certain: the prospect of seeing one of hockey’s greatest players in a Habs jersey is as tantalizing as it is controversial.

We have some interesting new information regarding Sidney Crosby and the Montreal Canadiens, tied to a potential trade.

There have been many rumors, opinions, and speculation about what the Habs would need to give up for number 87. Well, in that regard, here’s what the excellent Mathias Brunet just stated:

“the Canadiens would no doubt be willing to offer their two first-round picks in 2025 to get him.- Mathias Brunet”

He is obviously referring to the 16th and 17th overall picks in the 2025 draft.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the Penguins would accept, and it doesn’t mean Pittsburgh will ultimately decide to trade Crosby, but it does show what the Habs would be willing to offer in such a deal, according to Brunet.

It’s interesting to see Mathias Brunet go out on a limb and name a price, and it’s refreshing to finally have something concrete around a hypothetical return.

The Canadiens Would Be Willing to Trade Both of Their 2025 First-Round Picks for Sidney Crosby, Says Mathias Brunet

Yes, the potential Crosby trade continues to stir conversation-and rightfully so.

As Brunet points out in his article, one has to wonder whether Crosby is interested in finishing his career with a rebuilding team-one that isn’t going anywhere.

He hates to lose, and unfortunately, the Penguins may be headed for a lot of losses before his career ends.

And you-what would you be willing to give up for Sidney Crosby?
