The Montreal Canadiens’ offseason has taken an unexpected and heartwarming turn, capturing the attention of fans and fueling excitement for the future. As speculation swirled about the whereabouts of promising forward Ivan Demidov following the team’s playoff exit, a recent social media post from his partner, Ekaterina Yakovleva, has brought clarity—and a sense of optimism—to the Canadiens community.
While rumors often ignite curiosity and concern, this time, the buzz has resulted in a wave of positivity. The confirmation that Demidov and his partner have chosen to remain in Montreal for the summer is being celebrated across the city and among hockey enthusiasts. For a young star adapting to a new league, culture, and environment, this decision could prove invaluable—not only for his personal growth but also for his preparation ahead of the next NHL season.
With Demidov’s impressive performance in both the KHL and his brief stint with the Canadiens, his continued presence in Montreal suggests a strong commitment to his development and integration within the team. As anticipation builds for what lies ahead, fans are eager to support Demidov and Yakovleva as they settle into their new home and embrace the city’s vibrant hockey culture.

As we mentioned to you earlier today, a rumor was circulating about Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov.
A rumor suggested that Demidov was still in town and had not returned to his home country after the Canadiens’ elimination.
That said, in the past few hours, Ekaterina Yakovleva confirmed this information.
Ivan Demidov’s Partner Confirmed They Stayed in Montreal After the Playoffs
If he had needed to leave, all signs point to it already being done, so everything indicates that Demidov and his partner will be spending the summer in Montreal, which is fantastic news.
See her post.
This is great news, first of all to allow them to acclimate properly to Quebec and our culture (in peace), and it’s also excellent news for Ivan’s preparation for next season.
Without realizing it, he will have access to the resources, facilities, and some coaches of the Montreal Canadiens throughout the summer!
Ivan Demidov, 19 years old, recorded 49 points in 65 games this season in the KHL (19 goals), as well as two points in two regular-season games with the Canadiens.
In the playoffs, he tallied 5 points in 6 games (KHL) and two points in 5 games (NHL) for Demidov.
After the eventful past few weeks he has had, it will be good for him to enjoy a bit of stability, right here with us.
We wish them a wonderful and well-deserved summer!
More details to come.
