With the couples’ time on Honeymoon Island coming to an end, some relationships are going better than others — especially compared to Amy and Mike.

Dani and Emmanuel are getting closer to revealing their secrets, Byron and Brie are making their honeymoon official and Jess and Sam have hit a good spot for the first time in a long time.

However, after Mike put his heart on the line by asking when their romance would get going, he was shut down by Amy as she couldn’t trust him or his intentions.

She said she had hope, but is now not sure if he’s “her person”.

In a bombshell plot twist, Mike is gifted an emergency flare, which gives him the option to leave the island and let another man win Amy’s heart.

Mike decides to sacrifice his chance at finding love to give Amy a second chance.

And who is the next man to set foot on her island?

It is of of course, her dream man from the beginning: Man bun and salmon jacket.

Melbourne singleton Haydn, 29, is a romantic who is ready to settle down, and he hopes it can be with Amy whom he also had intense chemistry at the speed dating event.

They waste no time in getting acquainted and share their first kiss in the ocean.

After 18 days on the island, it is time for the last Couples Cove, and the rest of the island lovers are in for a shock when they find out Mike has gone.

Before lunch, two main events happen: Georgia admits to Dani that she is in love with Chad but is nervous to tell him, and Sam plays with fire, gossiping about Amy behind her back.

But the focus shifts when Amy and her newcomer arrive, much to the shock of the others, who can’t believe Mike has left the experiment.

The women are over the moon for Amy, but Sam is sad another “comrade has fallen” after losing Tom, who was matched with Emily.

Of course, Amy’s bestie Brie has to fill her in on Sam’s s**t talking.

“Sam said it’s hard to get a word in, it was good to have boys day without and that she brings out the best and worst in people and is yet to see the best,” Brie said.

Amy’s response; his comments were “rude and stupid” and she confronts him about it at the lunch table in another heated exchange that Haydn finds overwhelming.
