Radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson surprised listeners this morning with the announcement that their top producer, Jaimee ‘Mayo” Hassos, is pregnant with her second child.

Henderson, along with co-host Kyle Sandilands, said Hassos “dropped the bombshell” on them just seconds before going to air.

“We literally were like 20 seconds before the mics turned on, Mayo was in here and we were going through a couple of things,” Henderson said.

“And she said, ‘Oh by the way, guys, there is just one more thing I’ve got to tell you’.

Then Henderson called on Hassos to announce the news.

“I’m pregnant,” Hassos said before the office erupted in cheers.

“What a bombshell to drop just as we are about to go on air!’ Jackie replied.

Hassos said the news had been in the back of her mind, and she couldn’t hold it back from the hosts any longer.

Henderson said one half of her was happy for her, but another half was sad that they would lose their top producer when she goes back on maternity leave.

The producer said she fell pregnant again “a lot sooner” than she had expected.

Hasoss took time off after welcoming her first child in December 2023.

The mother and producer took to Instagram to announce the birth on December 7.

“Introducing you to our baby boy, Hudson Ricky Blazquez, Born December 5th at 10pm, weighing 2.5kgs. Our hearts are so full,” she wrote at the time.

Henderson posted a photo at the time with a caption dedicated to her friend and producer.

“My beautiful friend and work bestie, Mayo, had her last day in the office today before taking a year of maternity leave,” she wrote on December 1, 2023.

“It’s a bittersweet feeling, knowing that her infectious energy and incredible talent as a producer will be absent for a while.

“Many of our listeners know and love Mayo, and I have no doubt that she’ll make the most incredible mum.”

Hassos is welcoming her second child with her husband, Sebastian, who she married in 2019.
