The Montreal Canadiens are riding high after a thrilling victory, but the team and its fans have little time to celebrate. All eyes have suddenly turned to the health of their star goaltender, Samuel Montembeault, who was forced to leave Game 3 against the Washington Capitals with a lower-body injury. While the Canadiens managed to secure a crucial win, the uncertainty surrounding Montembeault’s status has cast a shadow over the team’s momentum.

In situations like these, every detail matters and every update is met with anxious anticipation. The spotlight is now on medical experts and insiders, as fans desperately seek answers about how long Montembeault might be sidelined—and what this could mean for the Canadiens’ playoff hopes.

The speculation intensified when Dr. Harjas Grewal, a respected sports physician known for his accurate injury predictions, weighed in with his assessment of Montembeault’s situation. His insights have only fueled the conversation, leaving fans hopeful yet wary as they await official news.

With the playoffs in full swing and the pressure mounting, the fate of the Canadiens’ season may well hinge on the recovery of their number one netminder. As the hockey world holds its breath, all eyes remain fixed on the crease.

Besides last night’s superb victory, another story is drawing attention within the Montreal Canadiens, with the injury suffered by Samuel Montembeault.

Let’s remember that Montembeault left Game 3 against the Washington Capitals due to a lower-body injury, and Jakub Dobes came in as a replacement.

In the end, Montembeault allowed two goals on 13 shots last night, once again delivering a brilliant performance, while Dobes stopped 7 of the 8 shots directed his way.

That said, we have an interesting update regarding the Montreal Canadiens’ number one goaltender.

The excellent Dr. Harjas Grewal, who accurately predicted the injury suffered by Patrik Laine during the preseason (and the duration of his absence), has just given his verdict concerning Montembeault.

A doctor weighs in on Samuel Montembeault’s injury and the length of the Montreal Canadiens goalie’s absence

See his post:

“Possibly Montembeault has a hamstring strain and that’s why he’s left the game

Hopefully it’s more a cramp and he’s potentially even back for the 3rd

Otherwise muscular strains can be quite variable and harder for goalies to compensate”

Dr. Harjas Grewal

He thus leaves the door open for possibly seeing Montembeault suited up tomorrow night at the Bell Centre, if it’s only a cramp, but otherwise he states that it will be more difficult for Monty to manage.

As you know, lower-body injuries are always very difficult to predict and manage for a goaltender.

One thing is certain, Monty was clearly uncomfortable before leaving the game.

We will definitely keep monitoring this for you.
