The NHL offseason is heating up, and few storylines are generating as much buzz as the future of Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Mitch Marner. With free agency looming and trade rumors swirling, fans and analysts alike are on the edge of their seats, waiting to see where one of the league’s most dynamic wingers will land.

Recent revelations from respected insider Elliotte Friedman have only added fuel to the fire, linking Marner more closely than ever to the Vegas Golden Knights—a team known for bold moves and championship aspirations.

Speculation has reached a fever pitch as the Golden Knights, along with other contenders like the Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, and Utah Mammoth, are all reportedly in the mix for Marner’s services. However, Vegas stands out as a particularly intriguing destination, with the potential to form a powerhouse duo by pairing Marner with star center Jack Eichel. The prospect of such a game-changing move has left the hockey world buzzing, as fans wonder just how far Vegas will go to clear the necessary cap space and make this blockbuster a reality. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed which team he believes has a very good chance at landing Mitch Marner this offseason, and it’s the Golden Knights.

The Vegas Golden Knights remain strongly linked with Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner, and the speculation is only building with free agency weeks away.

Marner is arguably the biggest name likely to hit the market, and while there will be a number of teams in on him, Vegas has been linked frequently as a serious suitor.

Marner and Jack Eichel together would give the Golden Knights a lethal offensive duo, but it would require some significant cap space maneuvering by general manager Kelly McCrimmon to bring it to fruition.

The Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, and Utah Mammoth are among the most suitable for Marner, but especially the Golden Knights, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, who appeared on the SN590 radio show today with this information.

“Vegas makes a lot of sense for Mitch Marner.”

Carolina and Utah have more cap space to sign Marner, but Vegas can make it work

Carolina and Utah, in particular, are more likely to sign Marner without causing much roster upheaval, but Vegas is right up at the top.

Friedman also revealed that Vegas had interest in trading for Marner last summer, but talks stalled.

Toronto was reportedly seeking Shea Theodore in return, and with Theodore later signing a seven-year extension in October, the deal lost traction, particularly with no long-term commitment from Marner at the time.

Now the Golden Knights are right back in the equation. How far they go to create the financial room necessary may indicate just how keen they are to bring Marner to Vegas.
